In Brazilian schools, Spanish learning primarily relies on textbooks as the main resource, which may not always be readily available. Previous research (Policarpo, 2020) indicates that approximately 77% of textbook activities focus on enhancing skills such as writing and reading due to their inherent characteristics. Therefore, exploring digital resources like mobile devices within a formal teaching context holds significant potential for innovation. When integrated with pedagogical objectives, these technologies can offer new learning experiences (Bergmann; Nunes; Policarpo; Fonseca, 2021).
This research objective is to develop a mobile application serving as a pedagogical resource to enhance the learning of Spanish communicative skills. Suárez, Grané, and Tarragó (2019) highlight that digital devices offer advantages such as interactivity, hypertextuality, and multimedia elements, which can facilitate the development of skills and competencies. The application, named ¡PROYECTEMOS!, aims to improve oral communication skills, which may not be adequately addressed by traditional textbooks.
The methodology utilized was the design research science, that will result in the completion of the application. It is currently undergoing a validation test with Spanish teachers to enhance its effectiveness before its implementation in a Spanish language classroom. This work presents data collected during the application validation process.
